Day of Prayer on March 1st

Since there is no 29th this February, we are celebrating Karis’ eighth month birthday tomorrow.  Please consider joining us for a day of prayer and fasting.  Along with asking for God to heal Karis, please specifically pray for her appointment with a G.I. specialist tomorrow morning (March 1st).  Karis needs to be eating more and holding down what she eats.  We are praying that the doctor will provide non-surgical solutions that are practical for Karis’ specific needs.

As always, let us know that you are praying with us.

“And this is the confidence we have before Him, that, if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.” 1 John 5:14

“Pray for Karis”

Hi friends! I have a lot of updates for you, so bear with me =)

Karis
Praise the Lord! Karis hasn’t thrown up in three days! I have prayed for a lot of wisdom on this issue and have started feeding her 4 ounces every three hours. This has been a great schedule for Miss Karis! She ate 20 oz yesterday and 20 oz today and has kept it down. I’m a happy momma =) We’re still hoping to get some guidance on her nutritional needs. She has perked up a great deal since her belly has been full, which is another answer to prayer. I have her on 3/4 tab of Klonopin every night and it seems to keep her relaxed without zonking out.

Project 629
I hope that you are still praying for our little one! If you need even more reminders to pray or want to spread the word, we’ve got you covered. I have been blessed with very dear friends who are passionate about being sure that Karis is prayed for. We have already ordered green “Pray for Karis” rubber bracelets. Magnets and other items bearing the “Project 629” logo are in the works. I will be sure to let you know when the bracelets arrive so I can start sending them out to you!

Lilburn Community Garage Sale
A good friend of ours, Krista Mullins, has purchased a spot at the Lilburn Community Garage Sale on behalf of Karis!!
The garage sale will be March 20th, 9am-2pm on Main Street in the parking lot across from City Hall in downtown Lilburn. Proceeds from the sale will go to purchasing items to raise awareness about Krabbe and the need for prayer. Hi friends!

We had fun at physical therapy today. Our biggest goal right now is keeping food down! I have been trying to get some professional advice on nutrition, but apparently that’s more complicated than it should be. If we could just pray that the Lord would resolve her feeding issues it sure would make life a whole lot easier!

Love,
Katie

Project 629

Project 629 was created in an effort to get as many people as possible to pray for Karis’ healing on a regular basis.  To further this effort, we are considering creating various items to provide people with a visual reminder to pray and also as a way to raise awareness about Karis and Krabbe.  We are blessed to have so many regular followers of our blog and we would like for you to help us determine the best way to do this.  Let us hear your suggestions, comments  and requests by replying in the comment section of this post.  This will also give us an idea of how many magnets, stickers, bracelets, etc. we should plan on ordering.

Your faithful prayers and encouragement mean more to the Almys than you could possibly know.  Thank you for being such an integral part of their lives!

Being Cute on February 18

Miss Karis threw up again this morning and I am feeling very disheartened. She has only eaten 9 oz today and it is 6:30pm. I asked our wonderful peditrician for advice and he referred me to a feeding clinic. I will give them a call in the morning to get Karis and appointment. Thank you so much for your continued prayers.

With hope,
Katie

Thank you so much for your prayers yesterday.  We have had a much better day today.  She has held most of her fPsalm 32:7ood down, praise the Lord!!  Her “personal” professional photographer, Keegan McWhorter of Admoni Photography, came over and took some updated pictures of Karis.  As much as Karis loves Keegan, she was not very thrilled about having her picture taken today.  However, she did at least open her big, beautiful eyes a few times!

Sweet Mr. Trevor is on the mend from the swine flu.  He seems to be hanging onto a bad cough and congestion, but no longer has a fever.  If we get a good report from him tonight he might get his family back tomorrow =)

Please continue to pray what you have been praying.  She needs to hold her food down so she can grow, heal, and thrive.  Please pray that the Lord would be gracious to Karis and choose to glorify Himself by removing this disease.  Pray also for wisdom as we are faced with decisions regarding Karis’ care.  Thank you for your faithfulness to pray!  I don’t know about you, but 6:29 has been a great reminder for me!

With hope,

Katie

February 15

We are very much in need of your prayers today.  Karis vomited last night and this morning.  She is extremely lethargic and will not focus on anything with her eyes.  When she is awake her eyes stay half way closed.  PLEASE PLEASE pray for improvement.  Pray that the Lord would restore her energy and that she will have an appetitie and keep her food down.  I feel very blue on days like today.  It’s hard to be joyful and hopeful when she is doing so poorly.  I’m asking the Lord to allow this to be a temporary setback.  I would be extremely grateful if you would join me in this prayer.  He can heal her.  Ask Him to extend His mercy to sweet little Karis.  Thank you.

With hope,

Katie
