The Lord blessed us with another incredible day today! It began when I woke up, looked over at Karis, and was greeted with a huge smile!! It has been weeks since she has smiled and it made our hearts melt. I felt like it was the Lord’s way of wrapping His arms around me.
Next, one of the sweet women from First Presbyterian of Jackson popped by and watched Karis while I had a “power hour” of laundry and house cleaning. It was so gratifying to be able to get some things done around the house. We saw Corinne for physical therapy at 12:30 and she spent this session doing some much needed construction on Karis’ car seat. (While maintaining the integrity of the seat, of course!) With some strategic placement, Corinne was able to fashion Karis’ car seat so that it would support her back and head without letting her curl down or to the side. It has made all the difference in the world for her posture! Since mommy and Ms. Corinne were preoccupied during her therapy time, Karis decided to take it upon herself to do some PT. I had her sitting on my lap with her legs dangling down and she kicked her legs and pointed her toes!! She rarely, if ever, initiates leg movement on her own. I was so shocked I asked Corinne if the leg movement was voluntary or involuntary. She said it looked voluntary to her because she wasn’t having any other associated movements (and, quite frankly, it just looked voluntary). Yay Karis!
As if that was not enough, I got a call from the dietician we met with yesterday and she told us that Medicaid is going to start covering Karis’ soy formula!!
Please join me in praising God for His goodness today =)
With love and hope,
Katie
I really enjoyed the last video at physical therapy. Karis was so content. I am so glad you are getting help with the nutritional plan. I know it helps you relax knowing what to do to help Karis. I’m sure she feels better when she is getting more nutrition too. You are doing such a wonderful job caring for Karis; your dedication and love is inspirational! I am praying for the trip to North Carolina. I hope it is helpful! LOve you all, Vicki
Kate,
Every time I see Karis on video it warms my heart. Thanks so much for your faithfulness to keep us posted. As always, we thank God for His work in your lives. All that He does is for His glory and praise. Continue in your faith, no matter what your answer is for the day because God is always faithful to you.
Love, Mom

Kick those legs girl!! Hahaha, she’s like, “Hello guys, when I come here we need to work on THIS!” Seriously. Best day ever. God is SO GOOD!
And I love Karis’ bottle, where did you get that?
Ok. I obviously need to finish the whole post/video before I comment… but wow. Thank you for that video, I’m a big crying (happy) mess right now. What a beautiful song, what a beautiful girl, what a beautiful Mama and what a beautiful day. Katie, I love you! I hope you know that. I was so excited when I saw Karis sucking her cheeks because Levi just started doing the same thing!! Little fish!! I love it! Kiss her for me!!
What a wonderful day! Thanks for sharing the video. We will continue to pray that you will have more days like today.
In His grace,
D&MK
